Dance is an art form, consisting of sequences of body movements with aesthetic and often symbolic value, either improvised or purposefully selected. Dance can be categorized and described by its choreography, by its repertoire of movements or by its historical period or place of origin. Dance is typically performed with musical accompaniment, and sometimes with the dancer simultaneously using a musical instrument themselves.
You know, I've had a lifetime of trying anything and everything that looks fulfilling.
Most of the time, I can reach a degree of basic competence over time, if not always easily.
But dancing? It's box step or nothing. I can master the footwork to throw someone across a dojo, but I can't even tango.
I bounced at a drag club, and there were dozens of people that tried to teach me a little.
Utter fails, every time.
Like, I tried learning how to sing, and I ended up sounding like a bullfrog being raped by a donkey. Which was an improvement over how I sounded before. But I'm still a better singer than a dancer.
Y'all folks that can dance? It's beautiful, and there's a degree of envy for me because it is just outside my ability lol
