Max pulling THIS shit every time I finish watching Last Week Tonight

Max pulling THIS shit every time I finish watching Last Week Tonight
You may also like Bill Maher?
What a slap in the face. Maher and MAX can eat shit.
I saw a clip of this moron for the first time a week or two ago.
The entire segment was him saying that genocide against native peoples was justified because they too had violence present in their societies. Of course, the overwhelming majority of complex life on earth include violence in their behavior repetoire.
So per this dipshit, you're morally justified in wiping out complex life.
This dude is the textbook definition of a reactionary centrist: so comfortable with his entrenched wealth that he'll gladly sell out anyone who is getting stomped by the system that he benefits from.
Which is why I advocate eating the rich, we should have started decades ago
Bill Maher is the smug "liberal" elite that I think conservatives think all educated democrats are. He thinks he's the smartest person in the room, has consistently bad takes and just generally sucks. He is all but the definition of smug. He thinks he's George Carlin but is not
Americans have guns so Im allowed to shoot them all, right?
Yes.
Me first, please
Only if they're brown enough. That's the real unsaid part here.
God I despise that little neoliberal worm.
Reminds me of how when my kids finish watching a decent-quality kids show on Prime or YouTube, the algorithm will try to autoplay absolute pablum like Baby Shark, Cocomelon, or some other trash. It's like it deliberately chooses the most basic mind-numbing schlock available.
Reminds me of the time I finished watching a stick figure fight video as a kid, went to take a shower without realizing autoplay was a thing and came back to snow white hentai
The algorithms prioritize things that other users spend a lot of time watching, not relevant or healthy content. Just addictive slop. It's such a major failing of our institutions that this practice hasn't been regulated away.
pablum
schlock
Hey thanks, I learned 2 new words today :)
dude baby shark is a time.machine. With baby shark playing 1 year feels like 10. I have PTSD from it. Not even over reacting, If I hear baby shark I start screaning "turn it off!!! turn it off!!"
Baby Shark Do Do Do Doo Do Do Doo Doooo....
Keep saying this, and no one has ever had a plausible answer: YouTube does not do that to me.
I watch lots of gun content, you would think I'd be overrun with right-wing horseshit, but that never happens. I get sane channels, apolitical, learning, legal and fun related stuff, like I like.
Here's my front page this evening. All interesting except maybe some TV shows I'm not familiar with but have watched clips. Don't think I've done much of anything to curate all that, just let YouTube decide.
The only time I remember the algorithm going nuts was after looking at survival gear and gas masks. LOL, quickly run down with crazier and edgier content. That could have been a rabbit hole, had to cut myself off before it got worse.
Maybe it has to do with my subscriptions?
One possible answer is that there is only one country on this planet that equates gun ownership with politics - from a global point of view it wouldn’t make sense to have an algorithm that connects fire arms to a particular political slant.
They rely on people getting up to take a shit after Last Week Tonight to juice those Bill Maher numbers
Does it autoplay or something?
In my experience, yes
To be fair I can see the leap. Bill Maher made HBO's political arm for a long time...
Now he is just a tired old dip shit (instead of just a dip shit)
You can turn off the autoplay. It still minimizes the credits to show you other shows.
Should be renamed things you may absolutely hate
I wish they'd let us hide shows like you can hide channels on YouTube
You can't hide channels on YouTube without a 3rd party addon. YouTube kept suggesting me videos from channels I think unsubscribed to until I did that.
Bill went bad. He was okay until we found out what he really believes.
Even before that, I couldn't stand him tbh. He's probably one of the most smug people in the entire world.
He makes Jeremy Clarkson and pregnant women look like Keanu Reeves and Dolly Parton
It's another HBO-sponsored newstainment show focusing on politics. Don't get me wrong, fuck Bill Maher, I understand why you're bothered, but from a programming standpoint it absolutely makes sense that this would be the next aligned recommendation.
Nice try, Bill Maher
Legacy format. You should be able to fully block suggestions you're not only not interested in but that make your stomach turn. We obviously have the tech to have more sophisticated suggestions now.
Yes! And there's no, "Thumbs Down," or, "Not Interested," option, eo you can't make him go away! Every fucking time I watch Last Week Tonight I have to see this smug dipshit's stupid face.
I'm confused. Is it Bill Maher or just the concept of "You may also like" in general that you take exception to?
It's Bill Maher and them continuing to try to push his stupid show after hundreds of failed attempts.
I don't really have anything against a "you may like" function that DOESN'T insist on the same bullshit recommendation for over a decade of me rejecting it..
I used to be a Bill Maher fan (like in my teens) his smugness was really off-putting though so I ignored them.
Religulous would have been more fun if he wasn't such a prick in it. His outro was annoying AF.
Bill Burr said he was on the side of the student protestors calling for an end to the Palestinian genocide. Then Bill Maher said (I'm paraphrasing) that it's the same as being pro-Hamas. Fuck Bill Maher.
The rest of the recommendations are pretty solid, though. I almost said something like the Game of Thrones doesn't fit. But right now, it really does.
Damn, you have a sharp eye.
Might I interest you in a podcast?
You may 😁
It is the only other late-night political talk show they seem to have, to be fair.
it also features a white guy in a suit...
How many other ones are there? Other than maybe daily show, which isn’t “late night.”
Like Amanpour & Company and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, though these admittedly do have a bit of difference. And The Daily Show is late-night.
Backpfeifengesicht
Off topic, but The Newsreader is actually quite good!
Edit: nvm, I can't read
get now tv and watch it there :)
This guy is just an actor, with a team of writers set to push the buttons of everyone sitting on the fence. Like or hate, nobody at the show gives a shit so long as people tune in. It’s just Hollywood garbage disguised as important discourse.
Bill Mahr has been a zionist racist hateful cunt since the 90s but you're right that 90% of these toilet swearage lookingass zio influencers do it for money. Bill Mahr admited , in interview with that AndrewShultz comedian, that he is paid by his Israeli friends who constantly thank him and invite him to visit Israel for his birthright land and citizenship. Same shit with that genocide sympithizer, rape apologist, toilet asswipe Mr Bellroli Destiny, and his streamer group who absolutely did FreePalestine movement huge favors repeatedly by exposing their own evil and hypocracy the more they talk and try to defend undefenable zionist genocidal aparthied.
He was interesting at first and quickly turned in to a shit sandwich. Probably because anyone that full of shit can't get it all out no matter how much they spew.
I'm jumping into downvote pool but yolo - I kind of like Bill Maher. I don't agree with him on everything, let's say I disagree with like 30% of his points. But rest of it is kind of on point? And that's fine, I don't have to agree with people on everything. Actually that's one of the points I liked from him - to learn to disagree. In today's polarized world that's a surprisingly refreshing idea. On the other hand I fundamentally disagree with him on Covid-19. So yeah. Also I find myself laughing at his jokes quite a lot, he has good writers imo
I think I fall in the same camp of agreeing with a good chunk of his points while disagreeing with others and I even have laughed at many of his jokes. And I'm totally fine with that for people I enjoy watching. However, what turned me off of Bill Maher a decade ago was his overall manner and attitude. He just started coming across as arrogant, obnoxious, smarmy, and untimately unkind, even when I agreed with him, which I did not enjoy. It was much in contrast to other satirists who may have mocked people, never felt like they were out to denigrate. Maybe his content has changed, but I haven't noticed.
I haven't paid him much attention the last few years but that's always been how I've felt about him.
Even if he's wrong half the time, at least he thinks for himself. That's a quality I respect in people, which is sadly lacking these days. People are right about his arrogant attitude though. Probably why I stopped paying attention to him.
delete your opinion loser /s
What's the problem
The cool old man putting kids in their place.
Edit: have you motherfuckers not seen Bill Burr rip Maher a new asshole on club random?
Unexpected SNL
You got the "old" part right, at least 🤷
Dunno, seems like a solid recommendation, those are the two weekly HBO shows I watch.
I don’t always enjoy Maher, but he occasionally has a good show and has some valid points. But I’m not one of the bleeding heart liberals.
