Que no todo lo que pasa o pasó en los Estados Unidos define lo que pasa o pasó en el continente americano o en la historia del continente mismo.

Los yanquis durante décadas se han mostrado como seres superiores diciendo que su país es el más importante no solo del continente, sino del mundo, invisibilizando el resto de países de América tratándolos de inferiores, sobretodo México por la cierta rivalidad que tienen con el caso de las inmigraciones.

Esto puede ser por culpa de los políticos ya que son probablemente la mayor esfera de influencia en la sociedad estadounidense.

Solo basta con escuchar frases como: “Welcome to America” o “This is America” cada vez que alguien llega a los Estados Unidos, frases mayormente dicha por políticos, personas de importancia norteamericanas o los principales medios de comunicación de aquel país.

Es más, los propios estadounidenses se llaman “americans” (americanos en inglés, forma indirecta de decir que ellos son América) utilizándolo como gentilicio.

This may be the fault of the politicians since they are probably the biggest sphere of influence in the American society.

It is enough to hear phrases like “Welcome to America” or “This is America” every time someone arrives in the United States, phrases mostly said by politicians, important American people or the main media of that country.

Moreover, Americans themselves call themselves “americans” (Americans in English, a roundabout way of saying that they are America) using it as a slang term.

Instead of saying: “I am American” they say, “I am American”, but they say it with double meaning, referring not only to their country but also to the continent itself because of the dominance their country has in it and in the world.
