This game has recently come to my attention and it seems to work fine on Linux for now. But apparently the developers have decided to switch from their current anti-cheat (Easy Anti-cheat) to Faceit in the future, which would make it impossible to play on official servers on Linux....

Am I missing something here? I was interested in buying the game, but if they are going to basically disable Linux support in the future, it seems like a bad idea.
Edit: This article is quite helpful. Apparently the developers arent entirely sure about FACEIT either. So we will have to wait and see.
Best not buy their game, no point in owning a game you can't play.
Hope valve gives refunds to people, regardless of how long they played it, due to their ability to play the game on their chosen OS suddenly being ripped away.
Wait seriously?? I just bought it... I hope they change their minds about that.
Oof, sorry to be the deliverer of bad news. In another thread someone suggested to reach out to the developers and ask them about the future of Linux. I couldnt really find any place to reach out though, so if you have already bought the game, you could check whether the credits might mention contact details. Having already bought the game is obviously a better foot to stand on as well, so that might help the argument.
Just requested a refund from VALVe.
Really wish i knew about this before buying the game, had a lot of fun, but i'm not going back to Windows just so i can play battlebit, really regret recommending this game to my friends now...
And for anyone having even a sliver of hope, the devs don't care about us, we only make about 1,6% of Battlebit's Player Count and they have already stated that they will implement it in their game and thats non-negotiable.
In the future they might implement linux support again, but as of now, i cannot in good faith recommend a game that restricts players choices and has an intrusive AC like Faceit.
