Explanation: Armenia was the subject of endless tug-of-war between the Roman Empire, and the Persian Parthian and Sassanid Empires. Armenian kings were replaced by the victor of each war, alliances forced, territories annexed and un-annexed, and poor Armenia just kept on surviving.
