- Seems like basically every company is covering up crimes that happen on their properties, and lots of those are sex crimes. I have no data, just anecdotally it's been almost every company I've ever worked for and the experience of virtually every woman I've known well enough to talk candidly about this shit. I'm not talking about "nice ass" comments either, I'm talking like, "blow me or you're fired" type shit.

Most gamers don't specifically follow gaming news or keep up with all the latest scandals (of which there are too many to keep up with in any case), but they will notice if the nostalgia project they've been looking forward to is suddenly gone.

How is this weird? Yes, it's unfortunate, but it is a reflection on society, not on gamers. Individual gamers have completely random opinions on everything except gaming. Gamer's opinion on dirty companies and genocide are no different than the general publics, which, what the fuck have THEY done about assault and murder?

I don’t really care about any of it anymore. It’s not like I ever pay more than $15 for any Game anymore, And after steams cut and taxes and everything, they barely are getting anything From me. And after I gave my switch to my ex-wife who demanded it, I just started Downloading Nintendo games because I won’t ever buy a Console twice. besides 90% of anything you buy is from a evil corrupt corporation or They are owned by a corrupt evil umbrella corporation like 90% of food brands are owned by five parent companies like there’s no point In Boycotting because when you buy their competitor, you’re just buying from the parent company anyways.

Gamers will unite to thwart cheaters and staunchly have their demands for balance changes met but will turn the other cheek on racism, sexism, ableism, etc.. with the reasoning being "cuz muh free speech", both in-game and on social media platforms.

Well, games are all individual people with their own views and opinions. The one thing in common is gaming.
I'm sure plenty of gamers hate Microsoft for plenty of reasons including that, but in those cases their not gamers, they're pro-Palestinians. Just ones that also happen to like games but that isn't relevant to that discussion.

I'm mildly amused that you think there are any gamers on lemmy that still use microsoft. Isn't it mandatory to use linux to access the fediverse? ;)
For ubisoft, I have no idea. Everything I seem to read around here indicates most are dissatisfied ever since one of the assassin's creed games a decade ago or something.

  as for ubisoft, yea, no one likes them, but ive seen very few people say they don’t like them because of the sexual assault cover up. for most people, it’s because of their bad games or their delisting of games (which are very good reasons to hate them, of course, but i still wish people talked more about the SA, it’s still a rampant problem…)
