December 17th, 3 episode finale event to formally wrap up the series!
(The writers were given short notice, so this will serve as a proper intended series finale. Also please mind the spoilers for anyone who has not seen the S14 finale.)
Oh I haven't watched this in so long!
I know they changed up the format, I saw some space and vice adventures. Did they change it up further? Did it stay high quality?
They did 7 seasons of mixed adventures (amazing, but declining as time went on, still good tho), then Archer was in a coma for 3 seasons for plot reasons so we had the Coma Years™ which weren't great.., then it was back to 'normal' when Archer woke up (but obviously not as great as the original few seasons), but a return to form. Final season just finished days ago (haven't watched it yet myself).
Yes the coma seasons were where I kind of tuned out, good to hear it went back to the office shenanigans
I watch/listen to Archer when I'm going to sleep. The coma seasons grew on me. A lot of great recurring jokes and references.
I will say this last season was absolutely the best of the post coma seasons. I don't know if Adam Reed was more engaged since it was the last season (he had stepped back after the coma seasons) or if they just took more time to refine the episodes and jokes, but it just felt like everything clicked. Kind of made me sad it was the last season, but great that we're getting a special finale!
