Oh I had no idea Rite Aid was entering bankruptcy. I guess this is the end result of trying to muscle over smaller pharmacies in america, they cant bother with being as scrutinizing as smaller pharmacies would be with all the added pressures corporate keeps saddling them with.
There’s also those stupid computer screen doors for the coolers to show whats in them, but that might be walgreens.
It’s just funny how being effectively americans general store isnt enough to keep profits coming. Pretty sure all of them arent actually doing that well.
It's really just having crazy expensive real-estate in massive corner lots. It's also trying to compete everywhere with Walgreens. Small towns don't need two massive pharmacies on corners next to each other, but both companies were building everywhere.
It was probably never true, but for many years I foolishly thought that 'bankruptcy' meant 'going out of business.' That's what it means if a mom-and-pop restaurant or shop declares bankruptcy.
When companies get ginormous, though, they never go away. Rite Aid will 'reorganize' itself with fresh investors, and it'll still be a shitty drug store long after everyone reading this is dead.
