Some of that is controversial as far as I know. And the pseudopupils are an optical Artifact since every single eye has its own opening.

Chinchillas have vertical slit pupils despite being small herbivorous rodents. There are definitely quite a few exceptions.
those psuedopupils are the coolest in my opinion. i had no idea about those.
- I don't think the pseudopupils are a feature of the eye distinct from any other part, it's just what the individual facets look like viewed at a shallow angle.
  
  edit: not that there aren't bugs with different colored regions of their eyes. I'm not sure about the functionality of those tho, is it for vision or camouflage or looking good for the ladies or what. Will google
W-shaped pupils likely also help cuttlefish see color and polarization of light, despite not having any cone cells in their retinas!
