We tested the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 tracker and came away impressed. It works just as well as an Apple AirTag and has more features.

I'll just wait for tracker using the Find My network to come out. At least it's going to be more universal and not Samsung-specific.

I thought they didn't support android?
5 0 ReplyAre you sure? The only brand Google mentioned making devices that supported their new Find my Device network was Pebblebee and Chipolo.
I have a Chipolo One tag but it won't be compatible with the new Find my Device network.

It works only with Samsung devices, it's dull
22 0 ReplyIsn't airtag the same thing but with iphones? Either way would be nice to have something universal.
6 2 ReplyIt's a shame the Google/Android version doesn't work on iOS. Still. At least it will be all Android phones.
3 0 ReplyTile is quite universal but has a weak network in many places unfortunately.

I downloaded the smart things app on my pixel and I've got the option to add a tracker. I don't have one to test with, but is it actually limited to Samsung devices?

The SmartTag 2 only works with Samsung phones running Android 9.0 and above. It not only requires SmartThings as a companion app, but the app has to be specifically installed on a Samsung phone. This already excludes more than half of Android’s worldwide users from ever using the tracker.
