Look, I know a lot of people here probably think I'm trying to be a troll but I'm truly not. I really think this girl was too young to be a mayor and I think that we do too much of this cheering when somebody who is not prepared for a difficult job tries to take it on.
I do NOT think it's great that people who have gone through two years of forest fires and I don't know what kind of governance during that time have to now try and find somebody to pick up the pieces of their broken lives.
Being the leader of a town is not a game. If things had ran normally and the systems that were in place had operated within normal parameters maybe it would have been just fine for her to try out whatever thoughts she had about fixing things or changing things or cool ideas she wanted to do.
But the s*** hit the fan. And there was always the potential of the s*** hitting the fan. And that's what you elect people for, to help you handle stuff and be there when the s*** hits the fan. Not to cut and run in the middle of it all when you still live there. That's b*******.
Sorry I'm not proud of this mayor. I think the people chose poorly. I would advise all of you out there not to vote for mayors who are 21 years old. I really and truly from my very heart will verbalize that I believe it's a bad idea. It's unbelievable to me that mine is such an unpopular view.
