Went down with a mysterious cough on Tuesday night. Seemed like just a bad cold Wednesday, got worse and added dizziness to the mix Thursday, now today the dizziness is gone (hooray) but whatever I've got has changed tack and is trying out severe nausea on me instead (booo).
Was supposed to be out tomorrow with a friend I've not seen since August. Not impressed.
So while I spend the next few days swooning around the house complaining about it like an actual child, I'd love to hear some happy things to focus on instead!
Weekend plans, amusing anecdotes, promises to avenge me should I not make it through, jokes at my expense, all equally welcome. For the love of god just distract me 😭

There is a nasty flu bug knocking about. I got floored by it also. It had only a little effect on my wife. Not the nicest one if it gets a grip on you,

Husband seemed to be coming down with the cough part last night but is miraculously unaffected today so looks like a similar situation for us. Trust me to be the unlucky one! You're talking in past tense anyway so sounds like you're both over it in time for a nice weekend, make the most of it for those of us who can't 🥲
(You know, I hardly watch any tv other than Star Trek reruns, maybe now is the time for a comfort watch after all, cheers)

... Seriously, mate, get tested for covid. And if it is covid, do your best to get some paxlovid. Despite what many people seem to think, it's still naught to mess around with.
Yeah I'll keep testing just in case, I know it doesn't always show up straight away. Never actually caught Covid (to my knowledge, of course) due to being careful and also an antisocial hermit, so would be sad to see the end of such an excellent streak, but such is life.
Never heard of it so I clicked that link with some trepidation! A lot of yesterday now feels like a weird fever dream. And thanks to this video today now does too.

It did turn out to be Covid, but didn't test positive until yesterday which was like 4.5 days after I started feeling rough. Apparently the random cycle of different main symptoms every day is something a lot of other people have with it too, but I had no idea until it happened to me.
First time I've had it, been really careful but my luck was bound to run out eventually. So much for the streak!
Anyway lots of last week including apparently making this post seems like a weird barely-remembered dream. But I slept for most of the weekend and we're into "this just seems like a particularly bad cold" territory as of this morning, so all good.
Oh, I'm really glad you're doing okay! Don't push yourself to do too much too soon - that might contribute to long covid to some degree. I hope you're doing recovered soon :)
