YouTube views are not counted in NewPipe and neither are Peertube views, but there is an open feature request for it here: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/issues/3092
Thanks, good thing that it bas been noticed. It should be implemented, I watch some Peertubers that way and it would increase their views
If an API for recording views was developed, it could be exploited to spam a video's views en masse.
