Yep, it's all about those initial steps though. Once you start that routine it's hard to break and becomes part of the ADHD 'ocd needs to be in its right place' habit.
Depression meds will help with the same thing. It's always that initial push though which is why taking meds right away when you wake up is so important. Once you get it as automatic as putting on your glasses --- while also ynderstanding what the meds are doing --- it helps.
Showering has never become a habit for me. Hygiene has never become a habit. I have to physically make myself do those things and often enough, I don't have the spoons to do them
