Getchell library - more in post

Getchell Library at the University of Nevada Reno doesn't exist anymore. It was torn down and a new library built. While it was open you could visit one of the many levels of stacks and there were times when you would be completely alone on a level. I'd been there more than once when it was dark outside and there was a snowstorm blowing. The visual brightness of the orange carpet and fluorescent lighting and quiet created by concrete walls ringing each level was other-worldly feeling. It was very much a liminal space.
