I am mashing B and the chat won't appear. What gives?

I disabled the chat features due having a Matrix space for this event already
- Does that have a chat?
  
  Matrix is a chat protocol, which the most common client is Element
  
  It's effectively Discord but federated (like Lemmy) and end to end encrypted (e2ee)
Chat is not implemented currently - a dev for Canvas mentioned it when this was last asked
- To prevent trolling?
