In the very least, we should be ensuring that any animal bred for consumption should be given the absolute best life possible, not crammed into spaces like sardines and forced to exist in their own shit all their lives.

So just one last rant before I head out: I'm already getting downvoted for spitting uncomfortable facts in my other post below just because their cognitive dissonance is triggered so much. Also the typical "taste, tho" argument.
People downvote and write those comments not because they're dumb or malicious but really just because the marketing and psy-ops of those ultra-capitalistic mega-coorps have done such effective jobs, even with lobbying into every government possible and other psychological conditions (actually about covid).
It's really uncomfortable to think about reality and it's pretty much the red pill moment in matrix. CAFO is the machine overlord sucking animals dry. I fully understand extinction rebellion now (the rebels from zion) and I'm embarassed, my pea brain couldn't grasp what they wanted to tell us before I realigned my values. Agent Smith told the truth with the virus analogy. Same with masking. There will be no new normal anymore.
The only way we can beat the machine is by not giving it money and forcing it to invest into alternatives which is happening. A producer of meat products in germany makes one of the best meat alternatives here and now makes more cash with it then the cruelty products. Netherlands gave some farmers 1.5 billion € to phase out their animal breeding because the burdens from nitrates etc. is one of the highest in europe. The farmers with cognitive dissonance who opposed that drove to the parliament with their tractors. Also NL is beginning to impose heavy fines on animal welfare violations which let to that one breeder had to close.
But to close: it's a violation of an animal already to breed it into existance and set a date for when it has to die prematurely.

For fks sake, the detachment from reality in this comment is astonishing. Would it be ok if I raised you as meat and then slaughtered you when you where 15 years old if I guarantee you that you would have a decent life in the meantime? Of course not, it would still be pretty fucked up.
its not a detachment from reality its actually completely based in reality, the statement being nothing more than quality of taste and a true fact, again completely based in reality. we all get it you think eating animals is wrong but my comment is not meant as some sort of statement on anything more than quality of food
