An investigation was launched into the officer when a complaint was filed on Jan. 6 for invasive visual recordings. But police said before anyone would ask him any questions, he took his life.
The investigation needs to continue. If he isn't convicted the victims will not know justice, the city will still pay his pension, and a bad precedent will be re-enforced.
If it is established that police officers can avoid scrutiny for potential child abuse by suicide, more police will fall on their sword. People who want accountability and who actually care about "Blue Lives" should be demanding the case stay open.
