Indeed, the latest research suggests that this is far from the case, with most of those flocking to the far right coming either from more mainstream rightwing parties or from the ranks of the serially disillusioned.
Keir Starmer is centre right at best.
Keir Starmer says and does nothing to alienate centre right voters. We will not find out what he really thinks until after the next election at the earliest, but what we do know, and so does he, is that (1) the Labour Party has fought two recent elections on genuine leftwing policies, and lost them both, and (2) voters on his left flank have nowhere else to go, unlike voters in the middle.

Starmer is a neoliberal centrist at best, he is a Torie in a red tie, as much a part of the old school establishment, and filled with disdain of marginalised people and the working class as any conservative, and absolutely no one in their right mind should hang any sort of hopes on him doing anything positive for anyone but himself and those like him.

That would be a little less worse than the reality - that we're all lorded over by the same slimy corporate types, only there to maintain the ruling class and the facade of "democracy".
What, with all the posturing Starmer has done to appease the right-wing, he's going to be a 'beacon of hope for progressives'?

If the only alternative to the failing status quo is the far right then we are doomed. Keir Starmer is not a beacon of hope, he is a pause button on worse to come.
