Best way to set schedules?

Currently I have 3 videos simultaneously in development hell right now.

One is "How Gearbox Ruined Halo Combat Evolved", the other is "Why Eco-Friendly Products are Bullshit", a third is "Content Gulag: Studygram".

My problems are these:

  1. No progress. Even in terms of which to start and which to continue
  2. Self-confidence be damned. I don't have that.
  3. Shitty mic and broke. Saving for an audio interface rn.
  4. Burn out. weeks of doing nothing but modding is tiring for me.

  • 1, 2, and 3 are negated by 4 because you are tired and burnt out. You must rest and chill until you are ready to tackle your projects as you wish - either finish one and move onto the next or work on them all and flit between them, doing whatever one you feel most motivated to work on. A quick and easy way to deal with some projects is to ask yourself "Do I really need to do this?", if the answer is "no" then dump the project.

It is always worth remembering that we live in a society that makes people feel guilty for not working, not being productive, not this and that. It is okay to kick back and look after yourself for a bit. This is advice I wish I was better at taking.

  • I can only comment on the shitty mic part. There's a lot that can be done with software processing - leveling volume, cutting static and background noise, adjusting the sound of your voice. I recommend VSTHost with reaper plugins. The two really useful ones are:

reagate - noise gate. It cuts audio below a certain threshold. Great for random noises in the back, mouth sounds, etc. Here is a good explainer on how to use it.

reaeq - equalizer. You can tune out ambient sounds, level your voice frequencies, and compensate for all the weird things that cheap mics do. There's a bunch of youtube videos on how to set up a good baseline for voice recording, and from there you can adjust by feel.
