The first commit was on Feb 14 2019. Amazing what @dessalines@lemmy.ml and the team have managed to build, attracting a great community along.

I had heard about lemmy a while back, but after having tried mastadon I thought Lemmy was just another Twitter clone so I did not try it until the api debacle.
Glad to have been part of this since second year, and my dumbass helped alongside 5-10 OGs to establish it as the defacto Reddit alternative just in time.
I have never used another Reddit clone before this as I did not consider them worthy or sane.

I never knew the initial commit was on Valentine's Day. Also, very based how the very first commit is just the AGPL-3 license.
Dess should tell us why Valentines. Probably a missed date and vented out on AGPL-3 legendary code. If true, long live heartbreaks!
