Second ever comment here. I watched Apollo shut down live, went to sleep and then immediately tried opening it up again after waking up, out of habit - girlfriends still asleep and I got so used to browsing Reddit for a bit before we get up on weekends, it has become muscle memory.
Using Wefwef currently and itβs nice, awesome work especially for a web app.
I'm just glad I found a server that allowed me to register. Been trying for weeks. Lemmy.ml is closed for registration. Lemmy.world just spins when you hit the register button. Another instance just said my registration was pending.
It was weird using Reddit Is Fun like I always do then it just suddenly stopped.
I can't create a community. I click the button and nothing happens. Any idea why? I'm trying to recreate a community from Reddit that really helped me when I was in a dark place.
You have my axe! Ex digg/reddit here so this just feels like dejavu. Just trying to find an iOS/Mac app Iβm happy with, so far mlem does pretty good!
Same for me. Woke up, launched Sync and got the message that it's not working anymore now and will work with Lemmy later. Immediately created an account here π
Haha, guilty. I went to mindlessly pull up RIF at about 7 pm CT and it wasn't loading comments, then I went oh, right, UTC it's midnight. And now two hours later here I am on lemmy
I never used a reddit ap, nor have I moderated, but I've watched the happenings and been incredulous at Huffman's (and subsequently Reddit's) behavior.
I just joined today and could use some assistance finding communities that I'd fit into. I'm into Cybersecurity and all matters of computing. If anyone has a suggestion please reply and thanks for having me :)
I was interested to see what the rush was going to be like when Reddit mobile apps shut down. Looks like it might be pretty significant. Is this bigger than the blackout rush?
I want to create a community for my local city but when I click the button after entering the name, description, logo, etc. Nothing happens. Do I need to do something first?
I just joined after Apollo stopped working. Iβve been over at squabbles since the black out. No idea how this place works. Excited to dig in and figure it out though!
"Migrants" is fine. "Refugees" makes light of people in our community who are actually suffering the extreme hardship of being forced from their home with nothing.
