I admit that KDE Plasma is super customizable and looks great but I just cannot get over the Windows-style taskbar and Start button.
Please make something that is unique to Linux (I know, easier said than done).
As you said, what's stopping you from customizing the taskbar? There's a few good applets to replace the start menu with something different as well
You're looking for GNOME.
Why? Taskbars" (really "panels" - "taskbars" are something else) in Plasma can be moved, removed, doubled up, made longer, shorter, wider, thinner... You can configure them any which way you want, or not at all and do away with them altogether.
The user said that despite the customizability of Plasma, they are looking for something unique, hence why I recommended GNOME for that expectation.
It's important to remember that although Plasma can be customized to any whim, not every user has the patience to do so.
