Well if you want the glass to be able to possibly survive someone breaking into it or being hit by something from outside (which seems they are doing better since that hilarious moment on stage). Then it seems that it would be obvious that it would mean also not being easy to break from inside. Even if it were regular car windows, the shit is hard to just break out from the inside without a pick or something else with a hard point. Also very curious how fast she had to have reversed to not have been able to stop and switch to drive or open the damn door. Not meaning to defend Tesla (and more specifically Musk), but kind of get the feeling she would have met the same fate in some other brand. Very stupid for someone that runs a shipping company to not know why it is important to not just floor it while being so close to a body of water.
If we are lucky, we will see more CEOs meet similar fates. Put there by their own incompetence and their last moments having nothing but fear. Their wealth and egos being unable to save them.
I feel like I'm always doing safety-related PSAs on Hexbear so excuse me being one note but I think every car should have at least one of these little seatbelt cutter/window glass breakers in them.
They are cheap and you're almost certainly never going to use one of them but if you're trapped in a car and you need to get through a seatbelt or a window, having one of these can save critical minutes and possibly even lives.
Just make sure that you put them somewhere within reach of the driver's seat - if you have to unbuckle yourself and rummage around in the backseat to get to this, it ain't gonna be worth shit in a serious emergency.
After the revolution I will make these mandatory in all cars.
If you let the car fill and equalize the pressure, you can simply open the door and swim away. This works on most cars because there's lots of holes that keep air out, but not water. I would wager its much more likely that the stupid electric door releases are what actually killed her. Agree with your point that glass is hard to break regardless, but if you have a physical handle, you should be able to open it, even underwater.
Holy shit that's terrifying, how did I not know that? I know where all the "please let me out before i die" emergency releases are on various teslas, despite only riding in a tesla a total of 3 times in the last decade.
