Has anyone played Barotrauma single player?
It's 50% off right now and looks interesting. I don't have the capacity to assemble a co-op crew of real humans. From what I've read, the AI crew is very bad. Is the game actually as unplayable as some people make it seem with an AI only crew? Would I be better off saving my money?
I love Barotrauma and I have only played single-player. It's definitely playable, I say get it while it's a deal.
Not unplayable at all, but definitely more tedious and a little less enjoyable. The AI are decent for certain roles. They man reactors well enough and can fix wiring and mechanicals okay. Medics might take longer to get to you and your crew. All in all, still really fun, just a bit tougher.
BUT, feel free to drop into an open server after you get comfortable with the game. Mics are definitely recommended, but as long as you aren't a goon and stick to casual servers people are pretty chill. I had a lot of fun playing with random groups.
