Matt Christman surgery was successful
Great news. He’s lost a lot of weight, dude clearly looks like someone who has been through a lot.
I understand why they had to circle the wagons when this happened but it would have been nice to set something up so we could send cards or something.
Can’t wait to have his voice back on my feed. Even if he just does history stuff bc it’s more chill. His perspectives are always really insightful.
57 0 ReplyI'm glad he seems to be recovering. His history podcast projects have been quite good and entertaining. Our large adult Christman is a very large and beautiful boy.
32 0 ReplyWoah, what the hell happened?
31 0 ReplyHis brain is still in recovery mode from taking in so many high level, important ideas
53 0 ReplyNew excuse to not read theory just dropped

we don't exactly know, but it was apparently something very normal that resulted in Matt needing some additional skull
45 0 ReplyMatt himself has said it was a stroke in his tweets,
33 0 Replyand they announce it with this pic, where the hat's curve makes his head look even more like it's missing part of the skull... it's art.

He had a stroke last year, around October IIRC.

I miss him on the pod, especially lately, but I'm mostly just happy that he's still around to be with his new daughter and family.
26 0 ReplyOnce I needed a small plastic piece printed for a study and a neurosurgeon suggested sending it to the bone printing department. They're really capable and can make things like models for understanding how a patient's anatomy would impact surgery, etc. Obviously overkill for my project though, I just ordered it from Wenext.
24 0 ReplyWalking in to the bone department;
Hey sorry to bother you, my cat knocked over my gundam and broke one of the epaulets, could you all print me a new one?

20 0 ReplyThe source of the image is an Amber tweet from a couple weeks ago https://twitter.com/ambercrollo/status/1765976068530581927

16 0 ReplyOkay it was 12 days ago that his surgery was successful. It's very difficult to browse twitter with the api disabled. I hate the bird site.
