- Idris Elba was such an intriguing choice for Roland, and he did a good job. Too bad the movie sucked.

Just a few posts up someone was talking about the "Weird West" genre of fantasy, and I was thinking about this exact series.
Wonderful series, but as much as I love King's work, the man just does not know how to end a story.

I’ve read this 3 times and once as an audio book. Fantastic series and one of my favorites from King.
- My only complaint, and I mean only, is that he stopped doing the flashbacks to young Roland after the 4th book.
  
  Granted book 4 was virtually ALL flashback, but still, there was more story there that is missing now. :(
  
  Sometimes authors have to leave a little story out, to remind us that reality is difficult and unknowable
