8 books, one short story, and one kids book... enveloping one weird Western tale in a world that has moved on.
The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.
17 0 ReplyStick to the books, don't watch the movie.
12 0 ReplyIdris Elba was such an intriguing choice for Roland, and he did a good job. Too bad the movie sucked.
11 1 ReplyHe would have kicked 12 kinds of ass as Cort in a faithful adaptation.

Just a few posts up someone was talking about the "Weird West" genre of fantasy, and I was thinking about this exact series.
5 0 ReplyWonderful series, but as much as I love King's work, the man just does not know how to end a story.

Thankee-sai.
5 1 ReplyI’ve read this 3 times and once as an audio book. Fantastic series and one of my favorites from King.
4 0 ReplyMy only complaint, and I mean only, is that he stopped doing the flashbacks to young Roland after the 4th book.
Granted book 4 was virtually ALL flashback, but still, there was more story there that is missing now. :(
5 0 ReplySometimes authors have to leave a little story out, to remind us that reality is difficult and unknowable
