USA ADHDers. Anybody have luck getting their stimulants abroad?
Having issues gathering vyvance, which is slightly working for me. A friend suggested that she has friends who can help get some from Brazil, where the DEA isn't down everyone's throat. Just curious about people's experiences

Sounds like something to discuss with your doctor before you travel. Surely a trip lasting longer than your script wasn't something that just happened last minute.

I would really, really suggest not playing games with stimulants from untrusted sources. There are plenty of stories of people doing things completely on the up and up through their doctor and getting screwed when their doctor or pharmacy switches them to a generic brand version manufactured by a different company that is not as effective for them.
That's going through proper channels, getting medicine manufactured by properly controlled companies. I'd hate to think how wide effectiveness could swing outside that environment, even if what you got was "pure".
You're far more likely to find it in stock just by checking an ever increasing radius of local pharmacies. I get mine from one an hour away from where I live, but not too far from my work so it all works out. Pharmacies in higher population areas seem to have a better time getting stock.
Lastly, the fediverse is probably the last place you want to be posting about committing felonies. All it takes is for the post to be federated to an instance that doesn't federate deletions and it will live forever.
I would suggest a lot of caution before taking an approach like that since shipping controlled substances through the mail is, IIRC, illegal. At the very least you'd need to pick it up directly from a port of entry or arrange a courier, it's probably illegal to import anyways, and there are serious quality/purity concerns.
That's all assuming it was an official dispenser in Brazil, if this is just someone's buddy you're almost certainly going to be an accessory to smuggling an illicit substance.

Agreed, importation of a controlled substance is highly illegal and can slap you with an easy felony depending on your area and amount. Glad to hear Vyvanse is working for you but it’s not worth the risk. Lots of fraudulent substances out there too if you can’t be sure how the drug was regulated. You’re better off calling around to local pharmacies to find some in stock.
As a Brazilian who got sick of the bureaucracy to buy meds, I wouldn't trust "friends of friends" acquiring it. Fraud is rampant in pretty much all areas here. Medication shortages are also pretty frequent due to delays in sanitary clearances at ports.
