I know we shouldn't get frustrated, but I hope these players are able to put things in perspective. If they want the level of wages we offered them, they had to fulfill their potential and they didn't do that. Better to take the lesser wages and build up to a new team.
Sounds like his sentiment is: if I can't get my current wages through a transfer, I'll just push them into buying out my contract so I can sign somewhere else as a free agent.
I get it to a degree - players only have a limited time to play at the top and he wants to maximize his income. But this is just more time in his prime that he's wasting. Plus, it's not helping his reputation as a player.
