What's the best RSS reader?
What's the best RSS reader?
(only recently federated so sorry if this has been asked billions of times)
What's the best RSS reader for android?
My criteria are:
- Material 3 design
- FOSS
I'm using Feeder for Android. It's open source (Gitlab) and free as in beer.
8 0 ReplyLooks pretty good! Not the best design imo though. Will use this until I find a better alternative.
3 0 ReplyI think it's worth giving it a chance.
3 0 ReplyI liked it once I set the article style to super compact. Block list is really nice too if you have a rss that throws in unrelated material from time to time like ads disguised as articles.

Another option is Read You. Good design in general.
I went on a long search for the ideal reader, but ended up settling on using Mastodon as the feed reader instead.
6 0 ReplyThat looks really good! Also has the option to import from opml which I needed.
2 0 ReplyThis looks fantastic. Thanks for the recommendation!
1 0 ReplyWhat theme is that? Looks just like sync for lemmy
1 0 ReplyThat's Material 3 (aka Material You), the new standard android design language

Any that sync with other devices? I'm looking to set up a self hosted option, but I'll see what else there is :)
3 0 ReplyI like https://miniflux.app/ It is not an app, but a selfhosted web page, and works great
3 0 Replyi personally like feedme - it's not m3 as asked in the op, but it's the most feature-filled android client that i could find, that syncs with inoreader

After a few attempts with different apps I've found Nextcloud News works well for me and it syncs to my self hosted Nextcloud server. Which I can also sync with desktop apps.
1 0 ReplyRad Reader is really nice https://cblgh.itch.io/rad-reader
1 0 ReplyThis one may also be worth looking at https://www.f-droid.org/packages/co.appreactor.news/
1 0 ReplyWell not FOSS, but pluma is good. If you need something very robust then Inoreader gets job done as it's cross-platform.
