It's almost like religion isn't the cause of the problem, but an interwoven aspect of society which has been affected by and caused problems as a result of cultural ideas and practices which it can sustain but is also largely affected by.
The Bible is full of weird shit that talks. Lest they forget the talking snake that kickstarts the whole shebang, regardless of it being Satan's vent doll.
At least some of those reasons are likely fake. "Depicting women in strong leadership positions" is a little too on the nose, but it could still be real. But "being anti-logging" is silly and "encouraging violence against fathers" for Hop on Pop is downright parody. And the one for I am Jazz reads like someone transitioning from parody to just plain criticism (of the book banners, that is).
