Stairs on one side, an elevator on the other and a museum dedicated to the bridge. The two towers are linked by the decks and they both have glass floors. It's a pretty cool sight to do in London.
The tower on the left is home to the Tea Wizard who uses parts of the lower floors for the nation's biscuit reserves. The one on the right is host to a princess that's been waiting for rescue by a prince for a very long time now.
I went to a private school where some of the teachers were freemen of the city of London. Apparently, they could request that tower bridge be raised. None of them ever tried, but I believe it is some weird legacy law. They also had the right to drive their sheep across London Bridge, but that one has burnt down, burnt down, burnt down.
I really feel like people post shit in this sub just to get attention. So many posts, like this one, would not exist if the poster just searched the title on any search engine. Most of the time they'd have better answers than any comment from random people, and they'd have it immediately. Why didn't you just look this up? Why post here and make others do work for you?
God I fucking hate this comment. Yes the poster could have just googled it. But you know what? I had never thought about what's in those towers. So I clicked on the topic to come to the comments and learn something. Instead I find your snarky worthless comment that contributes even less than the OP. Asking questions on here is a way to share curiosity and foster discussion. And lemmy needs more content, not less. So I hope no one takes your comment to heart.
I like this sub exactly the way it is. If something isn't for me, I move on. Not a big deal. And OP asked a great question. I never thought about it either, lol.
They're an elitist that doesn't realize comments like their's that stifle curiosity are the entire reason this community exists on nearly every platform.
