Janeway would willingly jump across the universe if there were a real shortage. That's a badass shirt!
There's a looming chocolate shortage as well 😞
28 0 ReplyI won't eat chocolate anyway. There was a John Oliver episode. Don't watch it if you want to enjoy chocolate.
12 2 ReplyI was happily chomping away on my massive Tony's chocolate bar during that episode. When he started the main segment, I sheepishly put it down and vowed to never buy chocolate again. Then he got to the part about Tony's being one of the only ethical brands and I glanced at the half-eaten bar with relief and gladly scarfed down the rest. It's nice when you don't inadvertently support slavery.
11 0 ReplyWhat's the problem? The child slave labor? The monkey slave labor? The massive deforestation?

You can just get some more expensive chocolate. Tony's is pretty good, and supposedly has a good supply chain.
8 0 ReplyThat's actually one of the brands he pointed to in the episode as a good example of ethical chocolate
8 0 ReplyEven they got screwed by one supplier, it was very embarrassing for them.

As Oliver said, even the more expensive brands can't guarantee child slavery wasn't involved. It's just less likely.

Our whole western existence was created from pain and suffering in the rest of the world. Letting a TV show ruin chocolate for you seems misguided.
