With Sony discussing the latter half of the PlayStation 5's life cycle, history has some good clues about when the PlayStation 6 release year might be.
Umm, correct me if this seems like a bad take…but is there a need for a new console generation considering the overlap of the xbone/ps4 with this gen? Only the Nintendo Switch is in dire need of a hardware upgrade, especially with handheld gaming computers like Steam Deck offering much needed competition.
Maybe it was the pandemic, but I feel like the ps5 and series x/S came out like two years ago. I'm not sure if it was the lack of any generation defining games or the fact that everyone is just playing fortnite, Minecraft, and apex legends still.
