jfc. 12 solid years of trying to follow this fucking shitshow of a country and I just can't handle it these days.
I think it's one of the reasons I've been following Ukraine so closely. It's a sad conflict, but it gives me a sense of hope seeing united people who genuinely give a fuck about their country and what they can achieve.

No Pence definitely said yes. It was Christie and Hutchinson who said no.
That is shocking. If anyone should say no, it's Pence. Pence has said he thinks Trump is unfit.
I am a Republican but I am not a fan of Trump. The guy was a liberal Democrat when I met him. It's like he is playing dress up of what he thinks a conservative should be and running with it.
Personally, I do not like anyone running. The religious right has infected the party and wants a government so small it can fit in the uterus of a female. Fuck that. Abortion needs to be legal and I won't for anyone who isn't pro-choice (They may call themselves pro-life but if they support abortion with reasonable restrictions I would vote for them.) Haley is the only one who fits that criteria right now and she has no change of making it though the grinder.
Sounds like you align better with the center right democratic party, and not with fascist republican trash.
I use to vote more conservative democrat/liberal republican. The problem is the parties have become more polar which isn’t good.
I wish we’d go back to parties with nuance. I won’t vote trump or Desantis. The others I don’t know as much about. Christie possibly but I’d have to become more educated on him. My first glance is he was a republican governor in a blue state. So he can’t be that extreme.

The exact question that was asked is:
"If former President Trump is convicted in a court of law, would you still support him as your party's choice?"
They cut out one guy who didn't raise his hand on the far left and also Chris Christie on the left who half-raised his hand with one finger.
Also no one raised their hands immediately. There was a short pause and then they all went up from right to left. As if they weren't sure it was safe to say so unless their co-conspiratora did.
So yeah, all of these people said they would support a convicted criminal for President. Including the guy that the criminal nearly had killed.
That's the part that blows my mind the most. Trump threw Pence to the wolves and continues to do so and he would still support him for President?? Despite saying just the other day that he should never be President again? This guy flip flops like a fish out of water.

He should have stood up and said, Trump should never be president but he missed his moment. He might have polled better had he done that.
The whole thing is a shit show. Everything about the GOP is. 8 candidates on a stage debating with not a single one of them anywhere near the leading guy who's turning himself in to jail to post bond today. It's like a circus full of clowns who aren't funny at all! I wish I knew what was going to happen over the next year but as recent history has shown us, everything about American politics is completely unpredictable.
I am a republican and I agree. Times have changed and they’re still ignoring the changes. A good example is abortion. Most republicans support it and they want to go all taliban on it. Many republicans support a single payer system; yet they want to fight it. None of them like Trump but they all are afraid to say anything negative against him. wtf. Pence of all people could have scored huge points. This is their own party debates. They can rip into the other people and this is the time.
The only person I’d consider is Haley and I’m luke warm about her. Maybe Christie but I’d have to research him more.

I was shocked he won. I didn't vote for him. I knew some people voted for him because they didn't want Hillary.
I do think Biden would draw more Republicans than Trump but not enough to beat Biden. I think his stance an abortion would push people away.
While man Republicans say they want an abortion ban, the recent voting shows that isn't true. In public they say one thing but vote another way.

Kansas and Ohio, where they voted against abortion bans.
Ohio isn't till November but it is suspected to fail.
I see nothing to indicate that Republicans voted against that.
Do the math. If republicans had voted for it. It would have passed. Kansas is a red state.
As this poll shows. Most republicans cal themselves pro life but support abortion with restrictions.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out a restrictive ban would fail due to republicans voting against it.
Ohio will be another indicator since it also leans red.
Now I fall in the with restrictions because I know that’s the easiest path to keeping abortion legal. I want the same restrictions as roe.
My personal opinion is it’s a woman’s body and her choice with abortion completely legal but that’ll never pass
