Teachers fired, inmates detransitioned, adult care banned, allies killed. A new phase of anti-trans politics- eradication is the goal
By Erin Reed | WASHINGTON – On Monday morning, we learned of a tragic incident: a woman was fatally attacked outside her store by an individual who had torn down the pride flag displayed there.
The following day, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals delivered another blow, determining that transgender youth and adults aren’t entitled to their medication, arguing such treatment is not “deeply rooted in this nation’s history and traditions,” a rationale echoing the Dobbs anti-abortion decision.
Concurrently, new laws are coming into effect, mandating the forced detransition of any incarcerated transgender individual. The once muted alarm signaling potential dangers for the transgender community has escalated into a raging firestorm. Reactionary figures from the right are fueling this blaze, advocating for eradication.
Transgender individuals are acutely aware of this. Many in our community have been cautioning for years about the direction we’re headed. Consequently, recent surveys reveal that approximately 260,000 transgender individuals have already relocated to different states — a significant 8% of the entire trans population (estimated to number between 1.5-3 million, or 0.5-1% of the US population). Moreover, an additional 40% are contemplating such a move. When factoring in that these individuals often relocate with their families, this shift becomes comparable to some of the most significant migrations in American history.
This is the actual goal. Republicans don't necessarily care about forcing us to detransition or commit suicide; don't get me wrong, they love it when that happens, but the real goal is to force us to relocate so we can't vote against them. This is a shot across the bow in the disintegration of the United States, along with abortion rights and other "culture war" bullshit. Soon, enough of us will move that they can push for even more extreme psycho shit, and then those who couldn't afford to move before will be forced to become refugees.
Honestly, they don’t even give a shit about transgenders. Notice the timing of this recent uptick in anti trans rhetoric. It seemed to naturally flow in the immediate aftermath of roe vs wade being gutted. They needed a new dog whistle topic and transgenders are an easy target to shift that focus to.
Transgenders are the Jews of Nazi germany. The scape goat for fascists to unite their base and ensure the population has someone to target that isn’t them.
Technically transgenders are the transgenders of Nazi Germany according to the Museum of Jewish Heritage . He targeted all the LGBT+ community. That said you're completely right about flow of events and need for scape goats.
This is the same kind of forced migration of political refugees that occurred before the civil war... I hope we can put an end to these Christo-fascists before it's too late, but if things keep escalating and they keep gaining power like they are now for another decade or so (or even drastically less if we don't resist) this could split the nation again...
Suicide is more difficult for some than one might imagine. If anycritter hears about some place accepting trans critters from the US as refugees then lemme know, okay?
... Yeah, sure, that'll happen. Maybe I'll get lucky enough to just get put away painlessly by some fash.
They've got plenty of women who court the face-eating leopards. It's not a huge market for them (democrats and progressive independents get the lions share of womens votes in most races), but they don't need 50%. As evidence by the last two of three presidential elections they won without the popular vote, not to mention all the gerrymandered districts across various purple and "red" states.
Pissing off the left fires up their base, which then turns out in droves. Meanwhile the lackluster mishmash of democrats and poorly marketed progressives often fail to fire up the left and left-leaning centrists enough to overcome the hard-right voters that actually show up in droves.
And yet they have control of the House, and keep squeaking closer to taking back the Senate... there's a not impossible chance they take back the presidency, provided their candidate can stay out of jail (and at this point, I wouldn't discount that not disqualifying them).
