Ah yes, I remember the 80s when the British state turned Ireland into an open air prision and started systematically starving the whole population, raiding aid convoys and destroying the infrastructure in retaliation for terrorist attacks in the UK. A totally sane and not at all unhinged comparison.
- Can you elaborate? Seems like you disagree with this guy's statement that a nation's population cannot be generalized by the actions of terrorists from said nation.
  
  And your mistake is in calling the IRA terrorists. I think you mean the English were terrorizing the Irish people.
