The image macro is especially ironic considering the way it's been edited and who it's targeted at. Generally going against Guthrie's own message and wishes. Do any of you know how his machine killed fascists? He didn't remove the guitar strings to garotte them. I'll tell you that much.
Yes, Guthrie sang antifascist songs, but the idea that he was a nonviolent pacifist is ridiculous. Listen to Miss Pavlichenko and Jarama Valley to hear some examples of what Guthrie thought should be done to fascists.
