Support for coreboot can't come soon enough. My fingers are already tingling in excitement for that day.

- EU: Novacustom and 3mdeb
- UK: Starlbs
- US: System76
Also adding the not available Purism Librem Laptop lol.
Or Thinkpads up to T430, they work pretty okay.
Or a ton of Chromebooks (with lots of drawbacks like bad keyboard, underpowered, low storage, bad repairability)

Is it even coming? They don't seem very interested
6 0 ReplyWe actually already have an experimental coreboot port on the FW 13 AMD.
And, from my understanding, Framework has sent over a device to make this possible.
However, I don't know if it will ever get official support. Though, surely, I hope it will.
21 0 ReplyThank you for this info! I expected this to be more feasible on the Intel models for whatever reason. Glad to see a glimmer of hope for the AMD platforms.

Historically, in the past few years, for devices that support coreboot, we've had more Intel models than AMD models. So perhaps that's were your hunch stems from.
6 0 ReplyYes, exactly this, though I know Jeremy Soller from System76 has been working on Coreboot for AMD UMA platforms a couple years back.
There's hope, still 😅
