Randy Gregory sues the NFL and the Broncos over $500K in fines for THC use he says was therapeutic
Veteran pass rusher Randy Gregory is suing the NFL and the Denver Broncos over more than $500,000 in fines he received for using medications containing THC.
I think even testing for THC is horseshit.
But assuming this happens in federal court, it seems very easy for the league to point to "this is classified by the government as a harmful substance with no medicinal benefit". It's great that they're finally looking at rescheduling it, but even if they do, I don't think that gives a lot of merit to a suit that claims it was inappropriate for the league to punish a player for a substance that the federal government formally considered as not being beneficial. Especially when the whole substance abuse policy is collectively bargained and not the league behaving unilaterally.
The nfl can advertise alcohol, even celebrate it during half time, But god forbid one of the players enjoy some weed.
Fuck you NFL. I wish I could boycott more than I already am.
