First rule of getting bullied is never get mad and explain why the bullies are wrong
Just spend a little bit to hire a private investigator to follow one selected member of the NRSC around and video them eating at fancy restaurants, telling racist jokes with lobbyists, buying hookers, IDK what the hell Republicans in Washington do but I'm absolutely sure that if you followed them around you'd find something. Total up what their dinner bills are for the month and illustrate the total. Ask them who that blonde woman is. You know, just kind of follow the data. Then put all of that into a campaign ad.
The final segment of the ad can be you, sitting up on top of some of your farm equipment, panning around and showing your farm, and saying "When I'm not in Washington, this is what I'm doing. In Washington I drive a car. You caught me. The big problem here is me and my bleeping Prius. Hey assbleep: Get back to work. Quit having fancy dinners."
Then at the end is you getting in the Prius and driving away, with a voiceover "My name's Jon Tester, and I approve this message."
You could rotate around among different members of the NRSC every month or two, if you wanted, and try to make a little viral sensation that would build your name recognition.
Oh, absolutely you should. I'm just saying that the way that you do it matters.
If you just say "hey you hurt me, that's not fair, you shouldn't do that anymore" and leave it at that, then there's a certain type of person that will start to look down on you because of it. I don't agree with it either but it is sadly how quite a lot of people seem to operate.
If I could afford to, I'd buy an electric car. Tester shouldn't have to justify this to anyone one, particularly other members of the legislature, who are bullying him. Electric cars are a big part of stopping climate change. If climate change isn't stopped, we're all gonna go extinct in a few more generations. Animals can only survive in a narrow temperature band that doesn't evaporate all the water from the land surfaces. The fossil fuel lobbyists are literally advocating slow genocide, and are undoubtedly behind the bullying. And they'd just call it bread and circuses.
Where I draw the line is environmentalist jackasses who are out there hating on the Prius (ACEEE's greenest car of 2024), which would extend the climate crisis.
You guys are fucking up the #1 car in today's market for fixing climate issues. Because environmentalism isn't actually about what's best for the environment, its its own insane cult that doesn't actually calculate out the full issues associated with EVs.
Hint: EVs that charge overnight do not use solar power for charging. Think about that for a sec. Its all Nat. Gas in practice. Rerun the calculations and you'll find that Prius burns fewer fossil fuels than most EVs for the typical American.
So stop fucking around with useful cars (like the Prius) and turn your attention to dumbass vehicles like the Hummer EV (which is so big and heavy that it burns more fossil fuels than a damn Corolla or Civic). EVs aren't the answer, they've already been corrupted by the corporations to have insane designs. You need to calculate every car on a car-by-car basis before making large scale environmental policies.
And if you have dumbass policies (like "Advanced Clean Cars II") purposefully leave out highly environentally-friendly vehicles like the Prius, well... guess what? You're part of the problem, not part of the solution.
"I’ve got an ’86 Chevy. I got a 2018 GMC. I got a 2018 Honda Ridgeline. I’ve got a Celica. I’ve got a Peterbilt. I’ve got a ’67 International truck. I’ve got a ’96 International truck. I’ve got a ’78 GMC. Want me to keep going?”
And we're not talking tractors yet. But, since big John is a farmer, each of these will be in various states of repair...
