My submission for R. R. Slugger’s Mechtropolis community build event

The theme was essentially Lego City, but with mechs and a focus on their power source. I decided to take this prompt and put mechs in the most mundane and impractical City environment possible: office work.

Working mechs need their cup of coffee/motor oil to keep them energized

Being a mech doesn’t make pencil-pushing or working on spreadsheets any more exciting. The computer, of course, is powered by cute animal pictures.

This mechanized mop bucket is powered by… er.. the messes it cleans up.

This MOC took an especially long time to come together. The design required figuring out how to build both hollow and solid hexagonal shapes with a rectangular brick system; unusual geometry also continued to be a challenge with the angular gray walls, especially the area immediately by the sealed hexagonal “doors”. The modular hallway/cell system also took up quite a bit of time to get right due to the unit sizes of the 1x2 grille tiles and the width that the inside of a cell would have to be. This is also my largest MOC or set by piece count, more than double the next largest.

Once the design was finished digitally, the parts order took a few weeks to come in through Pick a Brick and BrickLink.

While constructing, I

I’d love to make this MOC with physical parts, but some of the pieces are just too expensive for me right now

The nightmarish Kniiiiiiiiiiiiight Bus [OC]

What happens when you buy too many (or just enough) of the same set, and have no choice but stretch and exaggerate the original frame to comical proportions.

Someone suggested I mod it into a cube-shaped bus, and I really like that idea. Might get to that lil project some day.

Hope this post gives someone a laugh. I had a lot of fun working on it. Still have enough bricks for a few more levels.

What else should I do with this monstrosity?!! With a slight moderation, I think the bus will fit through the garage door rollers. So, comically tall, absurd garage to house this abomination?

(looks like I can add more than 1 pic to a post now, hooray)

Star Wars meets Blacktron I and II [MOC]

Earlier this year I was inspired by the most recent X-wing polybag, and created a whole series of adaptations of similarly scaled Star Wars ships into classic Lego themes. I posted them to reddit, but they've since been deleted. I'm moving them here. What do you think?

Just a stupid little build I did a while back. What are the weirdest pieces you've used so far in your MOCs?

Duel on Mustafar vignette

This MOC is at least 7 years old, and I figured I’d start out my time on Lemmy by posting something simple yet recognizable. Some structures of set 9494 are also used. Hoping to see this community grow and become more active in the future!
