But bazzites install process felt hobbled together in comparison
You also choose your desktop environment out of many options, plasmas just the default, you may have a much higher chance of breaking your install doing something later compared to bazzite
I did have to use gparted to manually partiition and set the boot flag since automatically it didnt work, just did exactly what it tried to do automatically, manually, takes 5 seconds. Otherwise it's really easy, nicer and faster to install than windows.
You plugin the usb, boot in, and its in kde running off the usb, so you can kinda test out kde plasma desktop environment, and the install is hella fast, coming from reinstalling windows the week before, insane, like a 100000th of the time. Then you just go through a fully graphical install process, after that clicking buttons to install most of the drivers and apps you need fairly easily, without searching on your own.
I use cachyos, it has an install gaming packages button that does all that for you, also have amd gpu and cpu, I use blender and steam fine

The only cross compatibility you need is posts, comments, votes, we got that, anything extra they add on top of that or ui they come up with is exclusive to their platform. All that matters is that the content is shared, this way people get to customize and pick whatever suits them. Some get old reddit vibe, some ppl get reddit third pirty app vibe, some want to also see microblogs in one place, etc. I like having options, I grew up as everything became closed off and the options went from massive visual differences to numbers.

Sure, but I miss when the internet was an escape, now its kinda of dead for me, I spend more time offline because of the 24/7 outrage, like yeah im upset too, but it just gets repetitive, im not built to be stressed out constantly, im getting blood pressure issues, had to dlt x because the algoirthim shifted towards controversy hard, and have to use lemmy less since its just depressing/exciting in a bad way news all the time.
Really wish lemmy was an exception, considering how small it is and how powerless the userbase is, yet its just another source of stress in my life lately
