Linux *is* easy. If you want a lean Ubuntu distro try Ubuntu Mate (or Ubuntu XFCE).

I abandoned KDE many years ago and moved to gnome, and then when gnome started mimicking cellphones I stayed with Gnome-old-school MATE.

If I had something criminal to hide it would probably be the job of some law enforcement agency to try to stop me.

And if I have nothing to hide it is not the job of a private company to interfere in my very private affairs.
