What games did you have a good time with that you just never finished?
  • Think of it this way. You're a seasoned witcher. You know the ins and outs of fighting and of the many monsters and oddities out there. You even spent the time to make the oils.

It's just the witcher's learned instinct to apply the relevant oil when fighting a monster. It's second nature. You don't even think about it. It's how it should be, narratively speaking and this is a narrative driven game where you role play as the witcher. It may not allow for min maxing your strategy, but it makes sense and is convenient.

Now, you the player do not always remember to apply it or even do it quickly. But the witcher does. He has the muscle memory down. The witcher is always ready. And you are the witcher.

  • It was the same with divinity original sin 2. The final act was so large, disorganized, and not fun. Like they had a lot of ideas they needed to use but didn't know where until then, so they threw them all in a big city and called it a day.

  • I haven't had it in quite a while as the niche soda shop in my city closed down during the pandemic. I used to occasionally order a few cases of it once or twice a year, you could probably do that too. A bit expensive, but nice as a treat if you can't get it any other way. I don't remember where I used to get it, it was some novelty soda site, but it looks like there are some on amazon for a bit of an upcharge. https://www.amazon.com/Moxie-Soda-12-12oz-Cans/dp/B079G3P558

I am moving soon though, I'm hoping I can find a soda shop nearby so I can get them cheap. Next time I have one I'll drink it with you in spirit.

  • Go better, get a sarsaparilla. Many different root sodas to try, go to the nearest novelty soda shop or check online for small brand, real ingredient, glass bottle, root-based soda.

Edit: I don't know the availability of this stuff outside of the us, but it won't be hard to find in your closest large city worst case scenario. Ace hardware even has a small selection of "real" soda at checkout.

  • Internet forums are disappearing because now it's all Reddit and Discord. And that's worrying.
  • Some communities don't need a good discussion forum, they need voice chat with a little text chat. Originally, discord was for gaming groups and it worked amazingly for that. Now, more communities are on it than should be, but its still a good feature set for gaming groups.

  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond – Announcement Trailer – Nintendo Switch
  • If you look closely, you can actually map the letters mp3 to the first letter in each of the words from the phrase metroid prime 3. This is some advanced cryptography so let me know if that's hard to understand.

  • I want to thank everyone on Lemmy.

I have had food poisoning all night and day. Lemmy kept my spirits up with a steady flow of posts to laugh at.

    Feature Request

First off, amazing app. I didn't use boost for reddit, but currently this is the best app for my personal uses that is out there. I use the small cards with full width images. I mainly browse by tapping the image to expand the preview.

Previously, I used relay for reddit with a very similar layout.

I have 4 features/changes that I would love to see options for.

    1. I am left handed, and I have the image thumbnails on the left. It's very difficult for me to reach the floating button to hide read posts. I cannot do it while holding my phone in my left hand. An option to put the button in the middle or on the left would be nice.

    2. One of the best features of relay was how quick it was to open and close images. All of the images would pre-load the hq versions so when I tapped, there would be 0 loading at all. I've noticed some loading with boost for lemmy which isn't super annoying but it would be cool to avoid.

    3. Relay had an option to disable double tap to zoom in previews. This means that when you would tap an image to dismiss, it would not wait for the double tap and would disappear immediately. This is the single biggest difference between the 2 apps that I notice regularly. It does get kind of annoying, having to wait every time. There is currently no lemmy app that has this feature.

    4. When dismissing an image, it simply disappears. It would be cool if the image "shrunk" back into the thumbnail location which would make it easier to see which post I just opened in case there are similar looking image thumbnails next to each other, such as text images. Relay also has this.

Again, I'm not trying to bash the app. This will be my app of choice going forward and I've already purchased the ad removal. It really is a fantastic app. I'm just throwing some ideas out there that could be cool :)
