As an anecdote, my mum is old and grew up in an era of racism and gay being illegal. she is now in public or on facebook having daily fights calling people out on the racism, and spreading acceptance for the lgbtq2s+ community. Intelligent people do chane their views, ageism has no bearing on that
Not every retired pwrson is an old school "boomer", some are very educated and have seen trends come and go to be wise about voting. i trust them more than a 16 year old who lives with parents aying their way ...who's biggest voting point might be irrelevant compared to larger picture of knowing how cost of living, bills and inter country politics work

Live boot can be different than installed behaviour. i have had this problem on one laptop. Live USB was fine, install would complete but error out on boot with any debian based distro. So burn a USB for Zorin, Mint and maybe another choice, just so you can try another distro if you get installed OS issues

Your RAID may fail a disk, but you still have your data on another disk(s). It is not a backup since data is replicated and deletion , means deletion...but raid gives you breathing room to recover from disaster
In my opinion the web apps are better. i work for two companies using their own IT setups; at both, the installed W10 apps suck. They get stuck and lag or struggle to scroll to data im searching etc. The web app always works as expected, assuming your internet is good

Yeah TD sucks. I was a cuatomer since the 90s when it merged with Canada Trust. I had mortgage, house ins, bike insurance, and RRSPs with them. it slowly got worse. The final straws were offering a prime plus .25% LOC and once I used it they did a randome re-eval and bumped up the variance rate, it went from about 4% to 7% and a then 12%. They did not want to discuss the practise. But shortly after I knew I had a payment coming from my account so put cash in in the morning. Checked it all at night and all went through fine. next day I have a NSF charge. They switched the deposit order so it went in after the night withdrawal. I went to TD that day and started cancelling everthing with them. So for them trying to make a quick shady $45 bucks they lost all my business...they don't even care they lose customers, they just keep screwing the ones that stay
We do. People just get stuck thinking the bank is the only way. We switched to CU years ago after multiple screwings by TD
Same in Canada for our Credit Union, they only ask you reconcile past debt if you want a loan through them, but regukar accounts are no issue
