It's been around a year since a lot of us quit Reddit, myself included. I'm happy with Lemmy, but I still feel a bit lost online since leaving the old site. Discussion?
  • It’s somehow even further drifted in ideology than Reddit ever was. I was there before Digg when you could actually have a conversation and not get auto banned for a wrong think and posting in a subreddit. Full discourse was encouraged and nobody cared what you did or said outside of a single comment. It somehow feels worse here.

  • Just a reminder we are the future of social media.
  • And yet it skews (awkwardly?) further from Reddit. Nobody understands that all the important movements of history reached across political lines and focused on a mission. Still missing a both sides vibe from here where everything is equally discussed to succeed.

  • Funding things under the guise of helping people who have no business buying things in question and ultimately making it orders of magnitude worse while funneling most of the money to big business and then reeeeeeing about how capitalism has failed.
