Drivers Hate The Tech In Their Cars
  • I like having Siri in my car when she works. Like when my phone properly wirelessly connects. But when it doesn’t, I hate it, and would be better without it.

Also why the hell can’t CarPlay use the radio, when the car has a radio. Why can’t those two things talk to each other. Fucking dumb.

  • How do you not get so exhausted while programming?
  • I have a rule regarding what packages I allow myself to use. I must be able to re-write whatever functionality I’m using in the package. That way when it doesn’t work as expected, I either write my own, or debug their code.

  • Kamala Harris’ welcome housing boost is overdue
  • Zoning reforms sound great.

One of my biggest issues with increasing housing is that many Americans store their wealth in their house. Home ownership is the retirement plan for many, or the generational wealth plan. So how can we build housing without devaluing existing housing?

The answer is to build more multi-family housing, which doesn’t really compete with single family housing for price. The former is mostly for rent, while the later is for owning.

  • This is dumb as rocks

The most charitable interpretation is “well crocodiles didn’t change in the last 100 million years but birds did so that means maybe crocs are closer since birds evolved to get farther away”

That’s dumb because both birds and crocodiles have been changing the whole time. Just because crocs look more similar to their fossils, doesn’t mean they haven’t been evolving/drifting/etc.

Same thing any time someone talks about “sharks haven’t changed”. It’s dumb.

This is some dunning Kruger shit.

  • Yes cycling is the absolute best endurance sport, and it’s fun. Swimming is also great but very few people can swim to work or swim to the bar or swim to the grocery store.

And fuck running. Your knees and ankles will thank you for cycling.

  • As record heat risks bleaching 73% of the world’s coral reefs, scientists ask ‘what do we do now?’
    1. Transition to renewable energy faster

    2. Consider environmental pollution an act of war, because we really are getting to that point. Yes this will be seen as the west “pulling the ladder back up after themselves”; ask the corals if they give a shit

    3. Those won’t be enough, maybe we can put some mirrors in orbit to cool the world down just a tiny tiny bit, then de-orbit it the mirrors.
