  • I don't think life is 'less pointless' if you procreate. It's both very pointless, except for personal fulfilment. What should it matter if you follow a path that evolution laid out before you. With consciousness, there is no more reason to consider that path in my eyes, just do what feels right.

  • If capitalism was not so psychotic, inhumane and bloodthirsty, I might agree. In the current world market? If you are worth more then double/triple what your average local family house is worth, I will probably hate their personality and what they stand for.

They'll still get the benefit of the doubt and I'll still engage, because everyone is their own person, but they are playing 3-0 behind and have lots to prove. There's a reason upper management is full of similar personality types.

  • Why even use releases? Everyone can build everything for themselves. 'Normal Users' are just lazy, everyone wants to know how every piece of software is built for their system, it's not like they have other stuff to do.

  • Maybe the S.T.A.L.K.E.R franchise? OG and call of pripyat might be kind of old and thus have too much jank, but 2 just came out, and it promised to bring a similar vibe, and I LOVED that vibe.

There's also some boomer shooters that combine the Doom FPS style with a bit of roguelike, like : https://store.steampowered.com/app/1229490/ULTRAKILL/

"Fuck you, got mine" tegen de jongere generatie.

Of is dat "fuck you, got mine" deel II?

  • I have a CC while being an EU citizen. Main reason is calamity while traveling, it's just accepted at so many places so it could bail me out. I still buy 99,99 % of my stuff debit though, I don't need most purchases ensured, also i don't like doing my finances one month behind, I like it one month ahead, so paying my CC bills after 30 days is a net negative for me.

Do I understand correctly that 'cashback' is the fact that if you return stuff, you get the refund cash and not wired to your account/digitally put back on the debit card? If so, can you explain the importance of that for your situation? If not, could you explain to me what 'cashback' means in this context?

  • Another confused dutchie here, this might be one of those time where dutch actually ment deutsch way back in the (murican) day. From the english Wikipedia (this article does not exist in dutch):

A Dutch baby pancake, sometimes called a German pancake,[1] a Bismarck, a Dutch puff, Hooligan, or a Hootenanny,[2][3] is a dish that is similar to a large Yorkshire pudding.[4]

Unlike most pancakes, Dutch babies are baked in the oven, rather than being fried. They are generally thicker than most pancakes and contain no chemical leavening ingredients such as baking powder.

They can be sweet or savory[5] and can be served at any meal.[6][7]

The idea of a Dutch baby pancake may have been derived from the German Pfannkuchen, but the current form originated in the US in the early 1900s.[8][9][10][11]

  • Denmark. It's in the Eurozone, they value education very highly and overall are more progressive then the Swiss. Might be slightly colder but it's a still sea-climate so you'll be fine :-)

  • No sir or madame, I actually verified by hand before posting that exact comment because while I did recently use it to edit the contents of a pdf (increase contrast on hiking map for BW print), I haven't that often and thus I wanted to find the rotate button myself to make sure I was giving legitimate advice :)
