Good job, Britain! A major contribution to the nations of the world!
  • "it is often assumed that characteristically American spellings were invented by Noah Webster. He was very influential in popularizing certain spellings in the United States, but he did not originate them. Rather [...] he chose already existing options such as center, color and check for the simplicity, analogy or etymology" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_and_British_English_spelling_differences

Either way he didn't change the spellings he popularized them..

"Webster did attempt to introduce some reformed spellings, as did the Simplified Spelling Board in the early 20th century, but most were not adopted."

  • American cheese
  • Technically Walter Gerber and Fritz Stettler invented the first processed cheese in Switzerland in 1911 by heating cheese up and mixing in sodium citrate. Kraft patented the process in the USA in 1916. The term "American Cheese" was later coined to refer to any processed cheese.

The American Cheese Wikipedia page is poorly written with mostly redundant information from other Wikipedia pages... it's just a commonly used word to refer to processed cheese and marketing term.

A majority of people in the European Union and a majority of EU leaders want the same. But small minorities of lawmakers—some inspired by Russian Presi...

Frozen Russian money should be provided to Ukraine as a stop gap at the minimum, it should be provided regardless. While politicians drag their feet, this is an good solution as well as an easy sell to the public. Funding war, someone else's war can be a tough sell to taxpayers, but this is funding for their survival. Get it done. Now.

UPS for 120W CO2 laser engraver

I've been trying to figure out the peak power demands and an uninterruptible power supply that can handle it. There doesn’t seem to be any documentation for this. It just needs to run long enough to power off safely. It's a Trotec speedy 360. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Edit 360 not 400 and it's an 80W laser

    Solved!
